Bill Shook, Company President and Engineer
The Spirit of Innovation
We are actively shaping the future of the bicycle industry and not sitting still to react to what others do. We remain true to that chosen path. We strive for excellence and pave the way for a successful tomorrow with big picture creative thinking with you, the cyclist, in mind.
Bill Shook Started
Riding at the age of 14. He trained hard and became a champion road and track cyclist, earning a place on the US National Team. While racing, Bill started his design career building his projects in his Dad’s garage.
In the 1970's
In the US, fine equipment was hard to find and that is what sparked the idea of American Classic — a place where Bill could design and distribute high performance components for riders every where.
The first products were new concepts, the lightweight water bottle cage and the revolutionary lightweight adjustab- le seatpost. The rest is history.
He created and fabricated the first large tube aluminum bicycle in the world and raced it all over the country. While racing professionally, Bill strove to find the best equipment, the ligh- test tires and rims.
From a successful racing career, Bill received a master’s degree in mecha- nical engineering from Ohio State University. Now he had the engineering expertise and everything was in place for American Classic to become a reality.
Born 1998 in Genoa, Italy, Aqua Sphere began a quest to create more comfortable eyewear for swimming. Launching the ground breaking Seal swim mask, Aqua Sphere changed the landscape of eye protection, introducing a new type of eyewear that provides increased peripheral vision with curved lenses, easy to adjust straps, and long lasting comfort.
Today, Aqua Sphere is focused on developing products that active swimmers, triathletes and water enthusiasts desire. Working with elite athletes such as 4-time Olympian Amanda Beard or Ironman World Champion Faris al Sultan, Aqua Sphere continues to innovate and offers a complete range of swimwear, wetsuits, eyewear and accessories. Aqua Sphere’s commitment to innovation can be found through its patented technologies in eye protection and wetsuits as well as its unique body shaping swimwear and the first compression textile designed for water.
We are five designers based out of Gothenburg, arguably the wettest city in all of Sweden. We also have unimaginably tiny satellite offices in Barcelona and San Francisco.
Sadly or gladly, none of us has matured past the point of twelve year old boys when we saw the world brought to life as we frenetically propelled ourselves as fast as we could down the streets.
It’s out of these memories of this pedal-powered love that we create products to celebrate and encourage the joy of biking. It is also our belief that we have an obligation to design responsibly to protect the environment as much as we can. That's why you won’t find nasty materials or unnecessary packaging on any Ass Savers product.
We were definitely not the first to have the idea of attaching something to the saddle to protect ourselves from the worst road spray. The concept is as old as rain and bikes without mudguards but where others have failed, we succeeded through the relentless development of literally hundreds of prototypes, a deep knowledge of sustainable manufacturing and passion for brands that resonates with it's followers.
Developing ground-breaking and industry leading products that help you suffer in comfort
A.E.P.D. Advanced Ergonomic Pattern Design
ASSOS’ knowledge, experience and philosophy on tailoring garments to function in the cyclist's position. ASSOS garments contour your body, protecting it without applying pressure when you are on your bicycle. High-tech fabrics are useless if cut badly! AEPD combined with specially developed ASSOS textiles optimizes muscle compression, reduces muscle fatigue and increases endurance.
ASSOS designed and incorporates a specially shaped panel at the front of the shorts to reduce fabric bunching when in a tuck position. Limiting unwanted movement at the front of the insert also results in an improved fit and less friction. ASSOS invention = today's industry standard!
No pressure elastic
New tailoring design for the elastic leg gripper. Instead of hiding the elastic leg gripper inside the leg of the shorts, ASSOS added it on the outside to become a visible feature. The elastic remains more elastic and applies less pressure on the muscle. ASSOS invention = today's industry standard!
An elastic microfiber mesh inserted between the bib braces prevents the braces slipping while improving the overall fit of the shorts. The mesh insert covers a large part of the back and increases evaporation, keeping you drier. ASSOS invention = today's industry standard!
AEPD II Advantages
Anatomically contoured. Wrinkle free. Total freedom of movement. Enhanced performance and breathability through perfect fit. More aerodynamic, less volume, more compact, less weight. Lets you look your best.
Bicycle Line was established in 1987 based on the entrepreneurial vision of Gastone Coghetto, whose extensive experience in the cycling sector soon lead to the production of high-tech items that continually evolved along with the requests and needs of customers. When his three sons joined the company, their father’s experience was blended with dynamism and increasingly strong development.

Born under the California sun, Body Glide was made to shoot the curl with glorious abandon, run beaches and bike coasts, climb mountains and hike deep into forests. To do whatever we wanted – for a moment of freedom.
Since our beginnings in 1996, Body Glide gained a loyal following with athletes to keep their skin protected and their performance secured. It soon became clear that Body Glidewasn’t just for a select few: it was for every one of us who wants to be active. From surfing to the simple act of playing with our kids, Body Glide helps us all to be active and inspires us to walk a block, hike a trail, climb a hill, swim an ocean — to keep us going near and far, and to ride the wave of life free of fear, free of pain, and free to be the brave hero we want to be.
So remind yourself of what you already know: No Waves, No Glory. You are the one you are waiting for.
YOU GOT THIS™
PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN A CURE®
Prevention is easier, faster, and costs less than buying first aid supplies and waiting for recovery. The risk of rubbing is that it wears away your skin. A little may not matter much, but minor irritation canadvance to chafing, blisters, raw skin, and sometimes an open wound. You can even be left with scarring. In the worst cases your body can become open to infection. Stopping skin irritation before it starts is the best way to control risk, maintain healthy skin and stay pain free. It’s why more people turn to Body Glide.
In sports, where we started, duration, endurance and overall performance are critical, and the condition of skin, muscles and joints are crucial, and our solutions help athletes achieve iron status by reducing rubbing and friction, withstanding water and perspiration. Our endurance strength formulas are invisible, non-greasy and feel like they aren’t even there. They are easy to use, effective, hypoallergenic, and safe for daily use.
STOPS TROUBLE BEFORE IT STARTS®
It’s particularly assuring to know that most often one application does the trick and can last all day.
Our products stay right where you apply them, and do not block your pores. They allow perspiration to escape, which is vital to regulating your body temperature. Our ingredients are plant-derived, and many are custom blended natural waxes, and we don’t use cheap petroleum (petrolatum), mineral, vegetable oils, lanolin or any animal products or testing. To put it another way, we won’t offer you messy lotions, untested potions, or greasy, ineffective jellies.
Body Glide® products give you confidence to go about what you want to do, to wear your favorite shoes and clothes in all kinds of weather, walking down the street, at work, at play, in extremes of heat and cold, humidity or dryness, from the desert to the sea, at high altitudes, and even under water.
Our customers have made Body Glide® the respected brand it is, today. It has spread far and wide mostly through word of mouth. For that we say, “thank you!”
Bollé products are distributed and worn all over the world. Bollé has developed a particular strength in the specialty markets of snow sports, water sports, golf, tennis, cycling and outdoor, as well as eyewear that meets everyday needs and styles.
The origin of creation.
An energetic Italian brand for sports enthuasiasts since 1985.
Briko is an italian brand founded in 1985 in Milan where the Scuderia flame is still burning thanks to great and unique athletes: starting from skiers like Alberto Tomba, Marc Girardelli, Lasse Kjus, Deborah Compagnoni, Kristian Ghedina, Jure Kosir, Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn to Nordic skiers like Bjorn Daehlie, Piller Cottrer and again great cycling heroes like Tony Rominger, Marco Pantani e Mario Cipollini.
The Briko mission is to bring its energy to its products in order to generate Iconic Products for athletes who demand performance and safety without compromises.
This Free Fighters mentality leads the Briko evolution and relaunch started at ISPO 2014.
If we are true to our heritage, we have to realize that Briko always has been very different from mainstream companies. Character heads have shaped an explosive brand with iconic products: From Alpine Skiers Alberto Tomba, Marc Girardelli, Lasse Kjus, Jure Kosir, Deborah Compagnoni, Bode Miller, Lindsey Vonn to Nordic Ski Athletes like Björn Daehlie and Cycling Heroes Tony Rominger, Marco Pantani and Mario Cippollini.
It has always been our claim to satisfy their needs.
Because when the chronometer starts, every movement, every sensation could make the difference among the top athletes.
Our R&D concept therefore is simple: Total commitement to the best products.
CatEye is the leading manufacturer of cycle computers, lights and reflectors to cyclists in the world. Founded in 1954 in Osaka, Japan, CatEye has always been a leader in innovation and technology.
In 1964, CatEye created the first flashing lamp for bicycles. CatEye went on to create the very first bicycle head lamp using white LEDs in 2001. The company is truly a world leader in lens and reflector technology.
CatEye's first cycle computer was released in 1981. Now we offer a full range of computers to meet the demands of cyclists around the globe. Always at the cutting edge of technology, we were among the first companies to integrate altimeter, heart rate, and cadence technology into cycle computers.
From it's head office in Osaka, Japan, CatEye manages two factories in Japan and one in China, and is an ISO approved manufacturer. On the leading edge of technology, CatEye continues to innovate and lead the industry in bicycle electronics, and is committed to safety and comfort in cycling.
Charge produce high-quality, low cost, easy to use products that combine the latest technology with simplicity, low maintenance and good ergonomics. They want to prove that bicycles and their accessories do not have to be intimidating to non-bicycle experts and that bicycles can be simple, functional and affordable. All Charge bikes are designed, tested and ridden here in the UK. It’s hard to believe that they have only been around since summer 2006. In those first few years, they established themselves as a brand known for classy designs, understated graphics, a sense of humour and impressive attention to detail. Charge bikes are brimming with character and showcase Steel, Titanium and lately Aluminium at its finest, both in term of styling and performance.
People who have a purpose in life are lucky: our purpose is to improve the life of others (bicycle riders).
Although the bicycle has already been invented, we’re still optimistic. Our history tells us that nothing is impossible; all we have to do is look beyond the present.
This way a handlebar must turn into a handlebar which didn’t exist yet,
A bike ribbon must turn into a bike ribbon which didn’t exist yet,
A bike must turn into a bike which didn’t exist yet.
We apply Design principles to our products, but also to our company. Design is not just looks. Design means shape, first project, outline, technology, technique, materials, innovation, creativeness, function, quality, uniqueness, know-how, emotion. We want every product to have an
Idea, since, if it is a copy, it cannot be Cinelli. However, the road to the mission is long and not easy at all.
One has to learn the ABC or better, the LPK of bicycles:
We have to get to know every detail, and not just because we are used to racing them. We love them and appreciate their history. Our head is in the future, but our feet have been standing on solid ground every since 1943 when Cino Cinelli won the Milan-Sanremo race.
At Cinelli we keep in step with our times, we know who Duchamp and Kurt Cobain are. We are curious: about art, music, design, other sports. We don’t think Berghaus is a new kind of medicine, and we don’t think Marc Newson or Philippe Starck are two football players.
Our roots are in Milan: and this is an advantage in many ways. Being able to grasp the aspects which have made this city a centre of international culture is of fundamental importance, and helps us to achieve our goal.
We make use of everything in order to achieve our goal: new technologies, sophisticated materials, experienced technicians, very strict tests, state of the art tools, but also art shows and design competitions. Because bicycles are something which evolve constantly, they are an infinite project. Only new stimulations and new ideas can help us create the product which is a synthesis of (our) dreams and visions.
In 1990, Gary Erickson set off on a one-day, 175-mile bicycle ride with his buddy Jay. As usual, he packed six energy bars for the ride—using the only bar on the market at the time. Halfway through the ride, exhausted and hungry, Gary realized he just couldn’t eat another unappetizing, sticky, hard-to-digest bar. Then and there, in a moment he now calls “the epiphany, ” the inspiration for the CLIF® Bar was born.
Gary took his idea to the best baker he knew, his mom, and for the next few months the two experimented with ingredients and recipes—mixing, baking and tossing out bars that weren’t good enough. Finally, Gary settled on the right recipe—a better tasting bar made with nutritious, wholesome ingredients to sustain energy. He named his creation CLIF Bar in honor of his father, Clifford, the man who introduced him to wilderness adventures and encouraged him to follow his passions in life.
CLIF Bar was formally launched in 1992. An instant hit with cyclists and climbers, distribution began at bike shops, outdoor stores and natural food retailers. Soon popularity grew to include outdoor adventurers of all types, and distribution expanded to include grocery stores, convenience stores and other retail outlets nationwide.

Force products are highly regarded in the Czech Republic and across Europe, these have been produced since 1991. Force represents a wide range of products - from cycling components, clothing and accessories.
We are a small British company dedicated to making cycling fun for children. We believe that the lighter the bike, the easier it is for children to learn to ride, and to enjoy it more as they progress. Many kids' bikes on the market weigh nearly as much as the child!
So we set about re-designing kids' bikes, creating a light but strong aluminium frame, and hand-picking components that offer a high performance without compromising the weight.
Ourbikes are now also much easier to pedal due to a unique crank design from the renowned bicycle engineer Dimitris Katsanis (of Team GB Olympic fame). The new design reduces the Q-factor (the space between the pedals), allowing children to push more directly down when cycling, so converting more of their energy into motion. Only Frog applies this level of rigour to the design of kids' bikes.
We sell bikes through independent bike stores throughout UK and mainland Europe, in Canada, South Africa, Hong Kong, and Japan, and directly to customers worldwide through this site. In fact, in November 2015 we won the Export Business of the Year award at the Start-ups Awards!
The founders, Jerry and Shelley, are a couple who have 2 small children of their own – both keen cyclists. So they know something about what motivates children to get on their bikes! Since the first prototype arrived, the bikes have always been robustly tested by the children and all their friends.
Our environment is an important factor in all the decisions we make as a business, from recycled packaging to generating our own electricity in the office. We have also developed the Leapfrog programme for second hand Frogs in the UK... Anything to keep old bikes out of land-fill.
So, what does the future hold? Well, we recently launched new ranges of super-light road and trackbikes which are available through our stockists. We have an exciting partnership with Team Sky, offering a complete range of lightweight kids' bikes and accessories in the iconic Team Sky branding. And new for 2016, we have launched a Union Jack range with Joanna Rowsell.
We are constantly working on developments and improvements to our bikes, in line with ongoing scientific research at Brunel University, so that our bikes continue to lead the market in innovation and comfort for children.
From the summer of 2016 onwards, we will be assembling bikes in UK, in our own factory in south Wales. This is a really exciting development for Frog, and one which will help us be more responsive to the market, reduce our environmental footprint, and create jobs in the local economy.

In 1989, Gipiemme starts the exclusive production of rayed wheels in aluminium and in carbon fiber both provided with aeronautics technology.
During 1992 Gipiemme fullfils the range of products changing completely the classical spoke wheel, creating the Tecno 416.

Simple, Strong, Secure … and Style!
Hollywood Racks started in 1973 when we began making trunk-mounted racks in the back of our bike shop in Hollywood, California. Our aim was simple: We wanted to make good quality products that were easy to use and came fully assembled. We earned a great reputation fast and soon began selling our racks to other bike shops throughout California. By the late ‘70s, we began selling our racks to bicycle companies such as Schwinn, Peugeot and Nishiki. In 1981, we closed the bike shop and opened a small factory in Los Angeles, CA to exclusively make car racks, then relocated to a larger facility in 1988. In 1989, we began exporting our products to Europe, and in the 1990’s we expanded our line to include racks for trailer hitches, pickup trucks and spare tires. We have since relocated our offices, R&D and US warehouse to our present facility in the Los Angeles area with manufacturing in Taiwan. Our products are available in all 50 states and in over 25 countries worldwide.
Our aim is to create better products combining research, science and reality.

From our earliest products, the objectives at Kinesis UK have always been to create bikes, bike frames, wheels and components for road, cyclocross, adventure and mountain bikes that excel in UK riding conditions. For us to put a Kinesis UK badge on any product it must be well made and dependable all year round, perform at a level beyond its price point and help people have fun while riding or in use.
We launched this brand believing that UK riders will appreciate products that are carefully designed to make UK riding better and are affordable and over the years many thousands of Kinesis customers have agreed with us.

Launched in March 2003 by Hugo Davidson and Malcolm McKechnie, Knog is a unique global lighting & cycling accessories brand, based in Melbourne, Australia currently selling Knog products to over 60 different countries
WHO ARE WE?
We're a team of creative designers and engineers who refuse to conform to anyone or anything. What binds us together is the same passion and ferociousness to smash the mould, challenge the status quo, and revolutionise the way we think about lights and locks. Being out there every day smashing the main roads and rolling softly through the back country and being attuned to global sub-cultures is where we find our inspiration. It's what drives us to consistently deliver fresh and innovative productsthat enable riders, walkers and urban adventurers around the world to discovertheir own sense of freedom, have fun, and live in the moment.
THE SECRET BEHIND KNOG'S INNOVATION:
It's like great sex: passion, experimentation, fearlessness, hard work, spontaneity and humour make an exceptional product and ultimately a great brand. We've always been pretty certain that when we launch well-designed products we canmake an impact with the product design alone, but what we've learnt is thatdesign makes up only about 10-20% of what it is to run a successful brand. Theother 80-90% are equally important: marketing/sales, logistics, shipping, public relations, advertising, point of sale, quality assurance and consumer service.

In the new location at Villasanta di Monza, all products of the brand-with-a-shield are conceived and designed according to a purely Italian taste and design. Since 2015 all our frames boast innovative concepts that have further raised their quality.
When you have a passion for cycling as we do at Lake, it translates to a life long passion. It’s in our blood, we are devoted to cycling. We have spent hours riding in the trenches, enduring the pain and have graduated with honors from the school of hard knocks. We have studied the shape of thousands of feet pedaling billions of circles. Designed and proven to be the most comfortable shoe in the peloton. You will not want to replace your worn out shoes, we hope you’ll want to just buy another pair from Lake.
Born in Evanston Illinois in 1982, Lake quickly became a household namefor cycling shoes. As the sport grew in North America, so did the versatility and demand for more styles. The MXZ303 (winter boot) was created because of a very cold climate that hit Lake’s headquarters every year, the shoresof Lake Michigan, where temperatures are quite possibly the coldest in North America. Many other innovative designs have come from Lake’s shoe collections over the years. More recently Lake was the first to design and produce the MX 331 Cyclocross specific model and today it remains the “holy grail” of cyclocross shoes.
Our pride has grown out of a simple fact, that we are first to market with many if not most new developments in cycling shoes. Unlike most companies inthe marketplace, we haven’t been distracted by entering into different cycling product categories, we have remained true to our core value and that is to produce the best fitting, highest quality cycling shoe on the market.

The Legnano was born in 1902 when Vittorio Rossi began producing bicycles with "Lignon" trademark in his machine shop.
From this time the activity started to grow steadily enough to attract other investors. A few years after the acquisition Franco Tosi, Legnano entrepreneur founder of the engineering company, in fact, entered into business with Emilio Bozzi. In 1924 Fascism strongly urged the purchase of products manufactured by Italian companies. This policy was decisive for Legnano, since it led to a substantial increase in business.
In this period also the change of name of the company, that from this moment on, he began to call themselves "Legnano." In these years also he changed the color of the bikes, which changed from the initial blue to olive green and then mutate, at the end of the thirties, the historic lizard color. The thirties onwards, the Legnano went to meet a growing success. The turnaround came in the sixties. The final blow, however, came in the seventies with the killing of Emilio Bozzi by the Red Brigades.
After many hardships ownership of Legnano in 1987 passed the antagonist Bianchi. In 1997, the Legnano and Bianchi were purchased from Cycleurope group that decided to allocate the first brand to high-level bicycles, while the second to the less expensive bicycles . Legnano The brand is then passed, in 2012, the Esperia group of Cavarzere.
We learn our lessons not in stuffy boardrooms but in the fresh air of the trails and roads that spread out in all directions from our home, from the pro athletes, everyday riders, and cycling evangelists who share our love of the wheel. We take that knowledge and infuse every design with it, employing the most advanced tools and techniques to build the best bikes out there. We test extensively, design carefully, and validate responsibly, but the final validation of any bike is riding, climbing, descending, and repeating—until we achieve perfection.
Ask anyone who’s put in the miles: riding in Marin County is like exploring heaven on earth. We believe there is no better place to ride, and we build that sense of freedom and performance into every bike that bears our name. Understanding what we do here is simple. Just ride one of our bikes and you’ll get it. Every hour we put into sweating the smallest details, tweaking geometries, and twisting wrenches is for you, for every moment you’re on the bike, when you forget the rest, focus on the ride, and enter another world.
At Muc-Off we’re big into being active. Whether it’s on a mountain, trail or at the skate park, we just love to be outside and going big. We’re obsessed with making the most innovative care products around to keep you and your toys running at their maximum and making them look like new when you’re done!
So what’s the story? It all started way back when Right Said Fred were too sexy for their shirts and Downhill wasn’t even part of the World Cup. Yep, way back in 1991 Rex and Marilyn Trimnell got things started with X-Lite UK. After designing and manufacturing the world’s first twin crown bicycle fork, Rex created a perfectly pink spray to clean his kit. To make a long story short, Rex’s cleaner was the best thing since sliced bread, and it wasn’t long before word got out and Muc-Off was born. Fast-forward to 2016 and Muc-Off is now the go-to brand for top riders and racers from the likes of Team Sky to Atherton Racing. And, in case you haven’t noticed, we do a bit more than our original pink cleaner these days. We have our very own Chain Lube Optimisation Dynamometer and Athlete Performance range including a unique Amino Patch Technology.
You’re probably thinking, “That’s nice. These guys clean bikes and cars, ” but the truth is we do a whole lot more than that. We also love to ride and drive and we’re obsessed with anything that involves speed or pushing ourselves and our kit to the limit. We’re always cooking up something new, and all our ideas are developed at our in-house, state-of-the-art R&D Center by Rex’s son, Alex, our MD (Mad Developer). After he's cooked up something new, it's tested by our in-house boffins and riders to ensure every Muc-Off product is simply the finest in the world. Once we're happy, the formula will go out to our pro teams for their final feedback. Only then will we put the product into production for the world to enjoy.
So, if you’re smart, (and we know you are because you’re on our website!), be sure to keep an eye out for the latest Muc-Off range. We currently have an insanely busy R&D program so please keep checking to see the exciting products we're about to launch!

They're good £150 wheels.
Tell us what you particularly liked about the product
I like bigger tyres. These rims sort of provide that, without the weight penalty of extra actual rubber. Plus they can be used tubeless, which I look forward to trying.
Tell us what you particularly disliked about the product
Spoke count is a bit stingy for workhorse wheels.

I don't think bladed spokes or a 30mm rim depth are a big deal on wheels like these. I'd rather that small amount of extra weight be used for extra spokes and thus long-term reliability. But it's a minor point: they're very good wheels.

Everyone remembers their first Raleigh, right? For 125 years Raleigh has been creating market-leading bikes in Nottingham. Chances are that you rode a Raleigh when you were younger - and maybe you still do now.
We're just as famous for our iconic children's bikes, like the Burner, Grifter and Chopper, as we are for cutting-edge bikes like TI-Raleigh Tour de France winning 853 steel frame or our Militis carbon race machine.
But today we’re much more than just a bike brand. We own several other bike and accessory brands, including Diamondback and RSP, and we distribute a whole lot more to cycle shops around the UK.
With over 125 years experience of designing the best bikes around, plus one of the biggest cycle accessory distribution arms in the UK, it's no wonder we're the nation's favourite bike brand.
In fact, we can go one step further, we're the only bike brand listed in the UK's Superbrands list. Now that's something!
We design them, we play with them, we ride them, we race them and we commute on them. Our bicycles are a product of the passion that started at the end of the 1800s.
Bicycles mean more than just saving money, or being an accessory to the latest trend, or a status symbol to grab attention. We look at bicycles as an extension of ourselves, our history but most of all we consider the people who will be riding them.
The Raleigh bicycle of today is designed by local people for local people. A Raleigh bicycle in Holland is not the same as a Raleigh bicycle in South Africa; the climate is different, the geography is different, the economy is different, the culture is different, so why offer the same bicycle? Raleigh doesn’t; in fact we believe this is a strength of our business and embracing differences in cultures is one of the reasons Raleigh is a worldwide name in bicycles.
Raleigh’s bicycle ranges currently include models for road riding, fitness, mountain biking, leisuire riding, commuting and for playing, models for children, models for big kids, for mums and dads and models for professional racers. From pre-school to peleton we like to say, or first bike to fastest.
Right from the start the bicycles that were produced were high quality and innovative, but it became more and more evident that a Raleigh bicycle had to be seen as value for money. Value for money has never meant cheap in a Raleigh factory, it means what is says, getting the most from whatever your budget. A Raleigh bicycle has often been priced as more expensive than a competitor’s bicycle, and yet it would still be named as the best value for money as it would ride better, last longer and the likelihood of an accident through broken parts was greatly reduced.
Raleigh has been involved with bicycle sport all its life. Sir Frank Bowden got involved in the world of racing very early and in 1892 at least 2, 300 bicycle races were won on Raleighs. Raleigh has sponsored many riders over the years including A.A. Zimmerman, Reg Harris, Joop Zoetemelk, Nicole Cook and most recently Team Raleigh.
Raleigh has also spent much time and effort sponsoring local riders, some from Raleigh shops who can give good local exposure to Raleigh as well as quick feedback on the latest designs.
Raleigh is also careful how each of its bicycles is sold. Even a Raleigh bicycle should be checked and tested before a rider is allowed to take their bicycle from a shop. We also make sure there are adequate servicing and maintenance facilities available as all bicycles require regular servcing, Raleighs are no exception.
Raleigh never had the luxury of having a monopoly on bicycles, but along the way the company has acquired many different bicycle companies and their intellectual property.
These include famous names like Rudge-Whitworth (‘Britain's best bicycle’), Humber (‘the aristocrat of all bicycles’), Hercules (‘the finest bicycle built today’), BSA (‘perfect in every part’), Triumph, Phillips (‘Renowned the world over’), Robin Hood (‘Easy on the road, light on the purse’), Diamondback, Avenir, RSP, Carlton, Cyclepro and Sunbeam.
Raleigh has created strong relationships with the manufacturers it uses. This relationship is crucial in making sure all products are to Raleigh standards. Engineers and designers from Nottingham and Seattle regularly visit Raleigh’s manufacturing partners, performing inspections, helping with production development and other required testing.
The close relationships that have been built up over the years, combined with the sharing of knowledge is now producing some of the best bicycles Raleigh has ever produced.
Raleigh also has many license partners who hold the distribution rights for a set area, and often get involved with local development of Raleigh bicycles. These partners work closely with Raleigh, encompassing the essence of Raleigh and yet adding a valuable local touch to the brand.
Ravemen is derived from our passion for bike riding and concern for bike riders as well as others’ safety. Coming from different areas of the bicycle industry and being biking enthusiasts, engaging in night riding is quite normal for us. To our regret, most of the high-output bike lights on the market have no anti-glare capability, which is dangerous to oncoming traffic, and as a result places them at great risk.
In fact, many people have had the experience of being dazzled by high lumen bike lights, and we believe that every rider also tries not to disturb others while enjoying the fun of riding. Based on such perception and being inspired by automotive headlights, the idea of applying a similar design to bike lights came into our minds. Through the entire process of conceiving, designing, proofing, testing and adjusting, we finally made it! That means the world’s first bike light with a simulation of the design of automotive headlights is available.
Combining high quality and durable material with innovative design, along with the concern for riders and others’ safety which has been fused into our genes, we promise each Ravemen product will be not only reliable and easy-to-use to improve your riding experience, but also a trusted companion that will earn you respect from others.
SAKO7 is a range of socks and cycling apparel created by Sean Sakinofsky, a road cyclist originally from Cape Town, South Africa. The name SAKO7 comes from his nickname, Sako, and his lucky number 7.
So how did it all happen? Well, one night, late… while pondering love, peace & all good happiness stuff, he was staring at his refurbished vintage bike, looking at the name on the down tube, which had been masterfully placed there by his mechanic / spray painter, Jared. It was SAKO 7. On the top tube, there was a pair of his favorite high top socks, and then it all dawned on him, ‘SAKO7SOCKS’ and so it all began.
It started with socks, and so the slogan is the root of all creation: ‘The socks maketh the kit’
All of SAKO’s designs for his cycling apparel, bottles and caps are influenced by his socks. Unique, yes.
However, the designs of SAKO7 are influenced by either Sean’s life experiences, famous artists, individuals or movies which have made an imprint on his life. He says his designs must have a story behind them, a book about his life.
All Santini products are designed and made in-house. Even the materials are made in Italy, because history and tradition are important to us.
Pietro Santini founded Santini in 1965 after taking over a knitwear factory from his sisters. At first Santini was an artisan factory making clothes for others. But, fuelled by his deep passion for cycling and racing, Pietro made the choice to design and manufacture Santini products exclusively in Italy.
We now manufacture more than 3000 items every day, and export about 75% of that production to other countries. But it’s not just numbers that motivate. It’s the passion that makes us intensely proud every time one of our supported athletes wins.
Every garment we make is developed from scratch by our team of dedicated designers. All of them have a deep-rooted passion for cycling, triathlon, and running and, because every aspect of design is crucial, we invest a lot of time and money in materials research and development to make sure every piece in our collection is designed with specific user and riding conditions in mind – then engineered and manufactured to deliver the ultimate performance that World Champions demand. This ensures we make only the finest quality products, and enables us to develop innovative products quickly and efficiently, in-house, in Italy.
That is what we mean when we say: Made in Italy, Made with Passion. Not only does this ensure that we manufacture only the finest-quality products; it also enables us to innovate quickly and efficiently, in-house in Italy.
Every garment we make has been developed from the ground up by a small team of dedicated designers with a deep-rooted passion for cycling, triathlon and running.
We consider every aspect of design as important, which is why we invest in materials research, trim development, fresh construction techniques and pattern development to make sure every piece in our collection is not just designed with the specific user and riding conditions in mind, but is engineered and manufactured to deliver the ultimate performance that World Champions demand.
Closed-Circle Methodology: From product design to test engineering to manufacturing, we own our entire process. We source material locally through long-standing partnerships and we respect and appreciate the natural environment. Together we strive to create the world’s best bike racks.
Design Transparency: Even radically new design should be immediately understood. Our racks are intuitive to use because they are designed through your eyes, so you can clearly see how everything works. This instills confidence behind the wheel that your bikes are safe and secure.

In the year 2000, the design team at Tifosi set out to create a range of bikes that were not only able to withstand the conditions British cyclists faced all year round, but also bikes that used the finest European components whilst remaining competitively priced.
Tifosi quickly earned a reputation from both retailers and consumers and became a brand synonymous with the term ‘Winter Bike’.
After many years of research and testing combined with a passion for grassroots racing, Tifosi is proud to be associated with the pinnacle of Elite British racing, having their first race team, Spirit Bikes, ranked as the number 1 Elite Amateur team in the UK.
Spirit bikes pride themselves not only on winning races, but also on supporting young riders through the early years of their career and guiding them onto the world of Pro racing. An ethos that blends perfectly with everything Tifosi stands for.
For many, riding a bike is more than simply rolling on two wheels. Because once the ride starts, it’s impossible to think about anything else. All that exists in life is what’s in front of you right now. Long grinding climbs and sweet descents, empty country roads and clogged urban streets, tailwinds on a sunny day and flat tires in the rain. Life is distilled down to the ride. That’s why we say ride equals life. At Topeak we know this feeling well.
We’re riders and we’re passionate about finding new ways to make each and every ride the best it can be. In the following pages you’ll find innovative new products and time-tested favorites all designed with one thing in mind: making the ride, and life, the best it can be.

In the Zipp test lab, everything breaks. If we run the machines long enough, every product will eventually fail. that's when things start to get interesting. For us, the goal of testing is not simply to confirm that our products pass government and uci regulations, or even our own, tougher internal standards. The more important purpose is to make stronger, more durable products by learning when, how and why failures occur.
